Frequently asked questions
Understand the partnership before we begin.
Clear answers about fractional leadership, the way PPG works, and what your organization can expect from an engagement.
Fractional Leadership
What does “fractional leadership” mean?
Fractional leadership gives your organization access to experienced executive talent for a defined portion of time. You receive senior-level direction, decision support, and implementation leadership without adding a full-time executive position before the business is ready.
How is PPG different from a traditional consultant?
Traditional consultants often diagnose a problem and deliver recommendations. PPG works as an operating partner. We help set the direction, build the systems, lead the implementation, coach the people responsible, and measure whether the changes are producing results.
How do I know whether we need a fractional COO, CFO, or HR Director?
The right starting point depends on where the greatest constraint sits. If execution and accountability are the issue, a fractional COO may lead. If financial visibility is limiting decisions, a fractional CFO may be the priority. If hiring, management, or performance systems are inconsistent, HR leadership may create the fastest impact. Our initial assessment helps identify the correct mix.
Engagements
What does an engagement typically include?
Every engagement is tailored, but most include an operational assessment, a focused action plan, clear success measures, recurring executive meetings, direct work with leaders and teams, and implementation support. The level of weekly involvement depends on the scope and urgency.
How long do clients typically work with PPG?
Some organizations need a focused project lasting several months; others need an ongoing fractional leader as the company scales. We define the initial term and milestones together, review progress regularly, and adjust the level of support as internal capability grows.
Do you work virtually or on-site?
PPG supports organizations nationwide through a practical combination of virtual leadership and planned on-site work when it will materially improve discovery, alignment, training, or implementation.
Industries
Which industries do you serve?
Our strongest experience is in law firms, healthcare practices, logistics, and other growing professional-service organizations. We are especially valuable in people-intensive businesses where workflow, client experience, compliance, and financial performance are closely connected.
Can you support a multi-location organization?
Yes. Our leaders have experience creating standardized processes, performance expectations, communication systems, and reporting rhythms across multiple sites and departments while preserving the flexibility each location needs.
Getting Started
What happens during the first consultation?
We discuss your goals, current structure, major constraints, and what has already been attempted. If there is a strong fit, we recommend the most useful starting scope and explain how we would work with your leadership team.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing is based on the leadership level, scope, expected weekly involvement, complexity, and length of the engagement. After the initial conversation, we provide a clear proposal outlining responsibilities, deliverables, cadence, and investment.
How do you handle confidential business information?
Confidentiality is fundamental to our work. Engagement terms can include appropriate confidentiality provisions, and access to operational, employee, client, or financial information is limited to what is necessary for the agreed scope.
